Foreword

I am pleased to introduce Bolton’s Cultural Strategy, Bolton Life! It is an exciting project, which aims to bring about the recognition of the value of Culture in all its forms.

The Strategic Cultural Partnership was established to develop and deliver a Strategy for Bolton. We meet regularly to progress the implementation of the action plans that support the Strategy and have formed a number of sub-groups to undertake more detailed work on specific aspects including consultation and data collection. The Partnership has wide representation from partners within the public, private and voluntary sectors.

The word ‘Culture’ is associated with leisure, pleasure and pastimes and embraces Sport, Arts, Museums, Libraries, Play, Parks, Open Spaces and Countryside, Heritage, Built Environment, Media, Entertainment and Attractions.

The Strategy is designed to touch upon all of these subjects, and will embrace everyone, no matter what their background or tradition.

As Chair of the Partnership, I have great pleasure in driving forward our ambitious plans so join in and together, let’s put the ‘Life’ into Bolton’s Cultural Strategy!
